How to purchase images on Aerial Cinema

Image Usage Terms

All images and footage on Aerial Cinema are Rights-Managed (RM). Rights-managed images and footage are licensed on a use-by-use basis. The fee for using our images is calculated from several factors including size, duration of use, placement, and geographic distribution. At the time you order, you will be asked to submit information that will specify the usage rights to be granted. Images and footage can either be purchased here on aerialcinema.com, or you will be directed to our distributor Corbis.

Preview or Comp Use

Aerial Cinema permits small electronic files of its products to be used for a limited duration, for test or sample purposes only. Comping files may be used to take a closer look at a particular image or to create materials for proofing presentations to clients. Comping files are not licensed for use in final projects, whether for internal or external use.

Image Specs

All images are available for immediate download as 8-bit RGB (Quality-12) JPG format, created from the original 16-bit RAW files. Each image was shot with the Hasselblad H3D-39, and cropped using one of the formats below. Should you require a 16-bit file or different format such as TIFF or Photoshop, please contact us via email admin@aerialcinema.com or phone with your specifications. Hasselblad native (4x3):

7216 x 5412 pixels @ 300 dpi = 111.7 Mb

Square (1x1):

5412 x 5412 pixels @ 300 dpi = 83.8 Mb

Panorama (16x9):

7216 x 4059 pixels @ 300 dpi = 83.8 Mb

Geocoding

As we shoot, the GPS coordinates of the camera location are embedded into the EXIF data of each image for accurate keywording. GPS coordinates for each photograph are displayed on each image's detail page, and include a Google Map Link taking you directly to the spot the photograph was taken.

Please note that the maps and GPS data presented on www.aerialcinema.com were created for general reference only. While we believe our data to be correct, any user of this information should review and determine the accuracy of the data for their specific purpose. Aerial Cinema, Ron Chapple Photography, Inc or anyone acting on our behalf make no warranty, express or implied, related to the content of these materials, keywords, maps and/or data.

Searching

We have created an easy to search database for our growing collection of images. Click on any category or keyword to browse. You can also enter keywords in the search box to narrow your choices. We have embedded keywords into all the image collections to respond to more selected searches. The scope of your search results will be determined by your selection of keywords.

Quick Search - By default the system uses "Match at least one keyword" for the quick search function. If you input "aerial sunset" (without the quotes) into the quick search field, then the search function will return results for any media that contain either "aerial" OR "sunset" in its properties.

The system supports the "AND" and NOT" operands in the quick search function by the use of the plus sign (+) and minus sign (-) respectively in front of the keywords.

• If you input "aerial+sunset" (without the quotes) into the search field, the system will only return results for any media that contain both keywords "aerial" AND "sunset" in its properties.

• If you input "aerial "sunset" (without the quotes) into the search field, the system will return results for any media that contain the keyword "aerial", but this media can't contain the keyword "sunset" in its properties.

• Note: There must not be any spaces between the second keyword and the input operands (+), (-) keywords.

Advanced Search  - The advanced search function does not use the same algorithms as above. It offers options allowing you to choose which operand you want to use for your searches.

There are three options available.

• Match at least one keyword
  The system will return results for any media that contain either one of the input keywords in its properties.

• Match all keywords
  The system will only return results for any media that contain all input keywords in its properties.

• Match exact phrase
  The system will only return results for any media that contains the exact input keyword phrase in its properties.
  

The Lightbox

The Lightbox is YOUR collection of images. You may add up to 30 images to your lightbox. If you wish to purchase an image that is in your lightbox, click on the thumbnail to view the enlarged image. Select the items that you want to purchase and click on the "add to cart" button.

Shopping Cart

The shopping cart displays your order details, if you wish to delete an image from your order before proceeding to checkout, simply hit the remove link on the right side.

Payment Method

You will need to tell our shopping cart which payment method you would like to use to pay for your purchases. By default the payment method is PPP (pay per purchase).  Using this payment method you will need to pay during the checkout process.

Checking Out

You will need to login to checkout your order. If you are new to the site please complete the registration form to create a username and password. This information is stored, so that you can return to the site to make future purchases and so that we can review your orders.

We utilize PayPal, VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS for purchases made on this site.
